LI: To use our knowledge of basic facts, to solve a problem.

We used our basic facts knowledge to solve how the issue of how many students in one cabin. The strategies we used were division and addition and it had help me calculate how much girls and how much boys in each cabins. Something we found interesting about working out the word problem was that we had a large group of children that could fit in 5 cabins. I learnt its is important to use my own strategy because it helps me understand more about maths but it does not only help me it helps everyone. It makes us realise using our own strategy helps us to understand better.

LI: To understand a budget is a plan for managing money.

  • In our camp activity groups we were given a budget of $2,000 to feed an amount of  people and to keep them full and hydrated for the days . We chose a menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for when we had delicious meals at camp. We used our smart searching skills to find the best price for the food we wanted. The maths strategies we used were multiplying and adding up. Working in our  group helped us understand how a budget works. Something I enjoyed was eating the delicous warm meal and having fun, giving the activitys a try and building confidence also using teamwork and helping each other out. Supporting one another and collabrating. This is how we all bond together and work as a team.

LI: Mapping the Migratory Flight of the Kuaka

This map shows how the kuaka bird migrate place to place it had travel to alaska to new zealand it had shows that the kuaka birds have flew for 2 weeks from alaska to new zealand it is important to learn about because it tells us how the kuaka bird flys.  This shows the way the kuaka birds fly. This helps us learn about the kuaka birds more.

LI: The Kuaka

  • Something interesting I found out about the Kuaka was that it can migrate place to place like how it migrate from Alaska to New Zealand. From this DLO I can see what the kuaka bird mean and what it does. They can fly non-stop for over 12,000 kilometres. The kuaka birds are known for there flying and how long they have being flying. Kuka birds are the most numerous tundra-breeding. Also when they are flying they are known  to sleep while flying called unihemispheric which means these kuaka birds put half of there brain to sleep.

LI: Dot to Dot Connections: The Kuaka

  • Something our group found interesting was that the kuaka birds can mingrate place to place. They had actually fly  from Alaska to New Zealand. It gives me more ideas of how or when the kuaka bird migrate. This is what i had learn about and gave my ideas to. We learned from each other and communicate and combinie ideas with eachother. Kuaka Birds have rough time finding there homes.

LI: To understand the concept of visual storytelling

We had went for a wonderful walk on a sunny shine day and discover what Samuel Marsden might have saw. My task was to picture what samuel marsden saw when he had came past the tamaki river. All these photo shows what we had saw on the walk. And how much fun we had during walking imagen what it would be in the 1820s. I loved how we had walk  together laughing enjoying the walk and talking about what samuel marsden might have saw.

LI: What Learning Should Look Like In LS2

  • Our challenge today was to co-construct ways we can make the most of our learning time in LS2. We thought about what we expected to happen so we could make the  most of our learning time then thought about what our teachers expected. I collaborated with Other children working out what our teachers might expect. which I enjoyed because it tells us what help or expectaions our teachers needs and we could help them just like they where helping me and others . This activity was amazing  because we learn from our mistakes and if we  learn we could learn more from our selves and from with in each other.

Camp Collage

  • Our camp at Kokako Lodge in Hunua was amazing I had so much fun collabrating with other children and enjoyed it.  It will last in my memories forever.  My collage shows what i have done in the past few days at Kokako Lodge. I chose these photos because it was my favourite part of our lovely enjoyable time at camp. My favourite part of camp was High beam because i had never did this and this had help me conquer my fear and have fun.

Inquiry

  • At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try. Our challenge in with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers.  And I have described what it was like what we had did to our raft. We had figure what to do and make it into a raft i had gave them a clue to make a big sqaure and tie the tyres to the bamboo stick we had made improvments  and our  hard workhas now  pay off  then we set it into the water and then the magic had began  where we  floating like a duck on the water. I had so much fun but we had also learn to do some tying.

Working in groups

LI: To understand that everyone has a role to play when we are working in groups

In LS2 we learn best when we learn with and from ecah other What your responsibility as a group member is How working in a group helped you understand more about the kuaka

Why talking to others about your learning is important. Something I enjoyed was our comunications and our effort to putting into our workworking together helps me learn more about the work. It had help me comunicate and expirence a new thing.
