Beak Breakers : Step It Up

As you can see we have been sent on a quest to say a tongue twister that have already been provided for us kids to have a try. before doing all the fun bit we provided and exquisite video showing us what we will be doing for this new Step It Up activity. This have help us learn more about Tongue twisters more and understand the meaning behind all of these meaningful words.

This have been an amazing way to learn , which brings creativity and and ideas and I really like how we had to make another voice for these tongue twisters because they make it fun and more intresting , I really enjoyed this and I can’t wait for more of these to come my way.

Beak Breaker : Kick Start

For this summer learning journey we were sent on a mastermind thinking compition to creat a tongue twister using our own words . Before creating our Tongue twister we were provided three video , one showing us a short tutorial’s about what we will be doing and the other two Showing us how to tongue twist and Listening to a Tongue Twister called A Big Bug Bit which gave me and big example on what I should do and Crate.

I have really enjoyed this experiance making Tongue Twisters and Learning Words I haven’t heard of like Holly And Wally. I also made sure to think about how It should sound like and what Its supposed to look like. This have shown me that creating a Tongue Twister is easy but say a Tongue Twister can be hard at the same time . I suggest you should make one!!

Anteaters vs Termites : Kick Start

For this Summer Learning Journey I was sent on a mission to create a drawing or a picture using Canva I create an animal that was mixed with  two different type of animal culture like a hedge hoge and a racoon with brings an good type of animal that is mischieveious and cute , I named it Wendy . The main thing in this learning was to upper our creative skills and to upper more of our research skills to help us be prepared for next years Inquiry Learning and many more. Also for our unique animal that we had chose had to also have unique features like ( spiky spine, bush tails, and long nails so I have tried to add some of those kind of features into the animal I have created . For when Wendy needs to catch it’s prey he uses his spikes to roll and harm the legs of that other animal and for his nails he uses it to shatter its preys eyes so that it could be easy for him to catch and rule the animal as it is his prey.

Anteater vs Aardvark : Step it up

For this activity, I have been studing about Anteater and Aardvark to see out of these two who will win in a fight. I have watched two interesting video about Aardvark and Anteaters, and was also provided and amazing video showing what we will be doing . While studying about these animals I have learned more facts about Aadvark and Anteaters which amazed me at what they could and could not do . And how these  two have no relationship towards eachother as they are , not cousines or anything ( but Aardvark are actually closer to elephants which shocked me as I see them as two different animals that can never be related. This have help us keep on track on which one we are on Track.

I think that Aardvark would win because of how they have the best habitat and best accessories, best fur , best active time , this all show how great a Aardvark is than Anteaters. This is what I personally think who would win and who has the greatest abillity in all of these colums .

Prey and Predator : Kick start

For this Summer Learning Journey activity , I was challenged to see out of these animals – Wild beast, zebra , water baffalo , warthog , Lion cub , Lion and Crocodile , in which colum it belongs . I first watched a video about what are the steps to doing this activity and then I made my decisions on which colum does these animals go into . I enjoyed this activity as it had help me learn more about lions . Three facts I learnt about lions is that they are social big cats living in prides, known for their powerful roars and Lions can reach speeds of about 81 km/h (50 mph) in short bursts .

These information and facts help us see the world as lions , think as if you were imagining yourself as a lion and you went hunting and you saw a deer , crocodile, and a  zebra who would you eat? For me I can imagin myself already as a lion catching a deer in the forest  and then taking the food back to my family because I think that deers are easy to catch and I would make a mistake catching the other two because of how fast one is and the other is good with it’s jaw.

I really enjoyed learning about these Social big cats and how many breed of lions there is in this world, this also helps us be prepared for next years animal learnings.

Project Tiger : Step it Up

For this Summer Learning Journey Step it up Activity, I was sent an another amazing adventure to create an animation of my chosen tiger (from the kickstart activity) moving through its habitat. As an apex predator, they are often difficult to see in the wild. I created a presentation for my animation, I used my smart searching skills to find their habitat. I created a lovely forests from adobe express which turned out great for my animation. This have turn out outstanding as we were also shown how to do it which It made it easier and more fun.

I picked a photo I found while researching and then researched one of their diets which was deers. I duplicated the exact same slide I started with but moved the animals around for it to look like it’s realistic (the tiger moving forward). We were also provided a video about how to do an animation if we were confused, there are instructions and other things for us to learn. I used remove.bg to remove the background of my image , I also used adobe express to get soome of these image from which really helped me out alot.

This was also my first ever Animation that I have did by myself as this felt amazing to see my work turn out great thanks to the steps that the teachers have shown and provided to us children. This was very enteraining and fun for us kids to do it shows us how mind blowing our work can look like , it also helps us next year as this helps us improve more in these kind of work.

Project Tiger : Kickstart

For this weeks Summer Learning Journey Kickstart activity, I was challenged to create a fact file using Google Docs about a specific tiger. In this information we needed to include physical characteristic, habitat and diet, and major threats. For my tiger I picked the South China tiger , 1 intresting fact that I have learned about these Tiger is that the South China tiger is the smallest tiger in mainland Asia but bigger than the Sumatran tiger. Males measure from 230 to 265 cm (91 to 104 in), and weigh 130 to 175 kg (287 to 386 lb). Females are smaller and measure 220 to 240 cm (87 to 94 in), and weigh 100 to 115 kg (220 to 254 lb). I also had a looked at Wikipedia to find some interesting facts about the South China Tiger and I also had a look at other wepsites that eagerd me to start this activity  off already. This was very intresting to learn about because of how theres different type of tigers which made it ” meow amazing ” . I really enjoyed this challenge as it makes me think carefully about the facts and make sure that I am able too understand words I don’t know. I also had a looked at Wikipedia to find some interesting facts about the South China Tiger and I also had a look at other wepsites that eagerd me to start this activity  off already.

Animal Trickster : Step It Up

For this activity I was sent on a misson to design my own animal trickster. Before starting, I watched two videos, one about different types of animal camouflage and another that eagered me to spot more hidden animals that use clever camouflage. These videos helped me understand how animals use their appereance, patterns etc. This really help me develope my searching skills and test me on how good I could see the difference between plants, trees, flowers, rocks and animals also insects.

This also help me engage with thinking carefully and also using my imagination into these kind of learning which help me so much.  I love how we also need to think carefully about how it should blend into things and what makes it invisible. The information that got me chocking was that all the leafs ,tree branches and rocks that I was looking at was actually a little animal on it, it was so blendable that I wasen’t able to tell untill later on I found the insect that was there.

As I created  my own animal trickster I had to make it invisible or should I say invincible which help me think about the details and everything that needs to make it invisible. So I chose a lady bug on a rose I tried hard making it blend with the rose which was hard but good . This was an amazing  learning to do as I have improved so much on my thinking skills and my searching skills and I know that the more skills I develope, Its because of these kind of learning.

Animal Trickster : Kick Start

My Own Animal Trickster!!

Take a little adventure to find out which one that dosen’t belong!!

For this amazing and interesting learning that Summer Learning Journey had provided , I had been sent on a adventure to design my own Animal Trickster , Before starting, I watched four videos, one about a flower called Orchid Mantis that is dangerous and it can catch predators like crickets and many more other little bugs , and another that have shown me where most caterpillar called Spicebush swallowtail caterpillar live and what type of leaf they are often found on , one fact that I have learned about the  Spicebush swallowtail caterpillar is that they use brilliant camouflage, changing from bird-dropping mimics to snake-like forms with large eyespots. I have learn facts about the Alligator Snapping Turtle how it hides and then ambushes it’s predator.  I have also learned facts about Anglerfish , one fact that stood out to me about this non-ordinary fish wwas that they have enormous, stretchy jaws and stomachs, allowing them to swallow prey twice their own size.

For my Animal Trickster the animals I picked was a Scarlet Kingsnake/ Milk snake which sounds like Milkshake and Slow Loris, Komodo Dragon, last but not least a Red Kangaroo. For these Animals I want you to find out which one dosen’t belong and tell me one fact about it.

As I created my own  Animal Trickster I was so hyperactive because while doing this activity  I have learned more about preys and predators because of how this work is set up in the most nicest orginization way for us to enjoy and have fun at the same time.

Now it’s your turn to have a try at figuring out my Animal Trickster and remeber all answers are and will be correct so have  fun!!!

Octopus Oddities: Step It Up

For this amazing task ,I created a DLO showing some facts about the Pacific Octopus which turned out amaing and while doing this I still remembered my reaserch skills and my creative skills which help me have fun and learn at the same time. This have also help me realise that when you research and you create a creative DLO with all your facts showing your research skills, help you want to do more learning and more working which is not a effective way but a unique way of learning, Which I have did for this amazing work. I’m so glad I got to learn more about octopus because all these facts have shown me what a Octopus can and can not do, and I have just learnt all these facts about Octopus just today. Thanks to Mrs Grunt and the Manaaiakalani people we can learn more and worry less next year, And one fact that stood out to me is that Pacific Octopus bodies, weigh greater than 180kg (396lbs )
